This week the Hong Kong Electronics Fair is taking place and during it we saw a bunch of tablets being launched. Those include the PiPo model shown below, the P1, a device we’ve wrote about before.

This is a bit of a premiere, since it’s the very first model to be based on the Rockchip RK3288 processor. This device uses that quad core chip, a 9.7 inch Retina Display and the typical rectangular design with big edges that we’re so used to. We knew that the product was coming in April and in case you want details about its processor, this one is based on the ARM Cortex A17 architecture and can be clocked up to 1.8 GHz.

The GPU is a Mali T764 and it does H.265 decoding, plus 4K x 2K resolution support. We expect other devices based on this CPU to be released soon, or as soon as possible. PiPo is a name we’ve been hearing a lot lately, so they may start growing to a household name in China.
