The Oukitel RT3 Mini rugged tablet is an odd duck, because usually rugged slates are rather big, massive. This time we’re dealing with an 8 inch model, that can take a bit of punishment and keep on kicking. It’ll debut on December 21st 2022 and we have more details below.

Oukitel RT3 is meant to take some rough handling and should operate without a problem even in extreme conditions. It’s meant for people working in construction, engineering, architecture, education, forestry, agriculture and more. The device is quite small, measuring 209 x 136.6 x 14 mm and it’s quite light, at 538.1 grams. It has an 8 inch IPS touchscreen, which is scratch resilient and provides 400 nits of brightness.

It also features a rubber casing, which provides it with protection against drops and shocks. The tablet is IP68/IP69K certified and also MIL-STD-810H certified. Thus it’s waterproof, dust proof, resilient to shocks, drops and vibrations. It can be immersed in water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 30 minutes and can take 1.5 meter drops. Specs include a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.
