The past week finally brought us the OnePlus 11 debut, at least in China. The global debut is scheduled for February and now we learn that OnePlus is prepping an Android tablet codenamed “Aries”. We recap everything we know about it after the break.
First of all, the idea of a OnePlus Pad is anything but new, we’ve heard it before. The name OnePlus Pad has been copyrighted ever since 2021 and it seemed that we would get a launch in 2022. That didn’t pan out. Now the folks of MySmartPrice, or better said one of their sources has revealed anonymously that a OnePlus Android tablet has entered the testing phase in India and could debut in 2023.
“Aries” may launch together with OnePlus 11R, the midrange OnePlus phone, which has been leaked and supposedly has an IR blaster. The source also mentions that the tablet will be an entry level one, with low cost. Also known as the OnePlus Tab, it will be heavily based on the Oppo tablet, which we’ve also heard in 2022. OnePlus is basically the property of OPPO, so this is not much of a shocker.
If we judge the OPPO Pad Air as the starting point for this newcomer, we could end up with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, with a 10.36 inch IPS LCD panel and a 7100 mAh battery. This charges at up to 18W. I actually like the fact that there’s a 2K screen here. However, there are quite a few entry level and midrange tablets on the market, so it will be hard for OnePlus to differentiate itself.
