OnePlus has been a hot topic lately, but most times regarding its fusion with Oppo, rather than its own products. Today we learn that a device named OnePlus Pas had its commercial brand registered in Europa, confirming that the first OnePlus tablet is coming.

It could in fact be an Oppo tablet under the OnePlus brand, especially since Oppo itself doesn’t have its own tablet. Meanwhile, sister company Vivo also doesn’t have a slate, but it has registered names like the Vivo Pad, Nex Pad and iQOO Pad. Back tot he OnePlus Pad, the name was registered in Europa with the EUIPO authority on July 1st. This trademark can apply to goods and services, plus devices like PCs, laptops, tablets and others. The “PAD” particle confirms we’re dealing with a tablet.

By the way among the brands mentioned above I actually forgot one: Realme. Oppo’s sub brand is also prepping its own Realme Pad, so there’s a lot of overlapping here. All of this hype regarding slates comes after the year 2020 brought a boom in the laptop and tablet segment, on account of the pandemic and working from home. OnePlus Pad may debut with a Snapdragon 8xx or 7xx CPU inside, ColorOS rather than OxygenOS and also an AMOLED 120 Hz screen. We also expect quad speakers and maybe gaming features.
