Olivetti is an Italian IT company that has decided to go into the tablet business, by launching the OliPad slate. This is a 10 inch device, that will support WiFi and cellular connections. Its price will be around 400 EUR and we found out that this is an enterprise product, for small and medium companies. There’s no info about availability at this point.
OliPad will run Android, but we don’t know if it will be customized or the stock version. This is quite an achievement for Olivetti, a company that started as typewriter maker, evolved into the computer business and was then purchased by Telecom Italia. The OliPad will also get the Olivetti Application Warehouse, an app store that will provide the needed software for the device.
