The technology has a funny way of evolving: over the past years smartphone screens have been increasing in size, reaching the point where the HTC EVO 4G brings out a 4.3 inch touchscreen. The next step is a blurry line between MID, tablet and smartphone, defined by Dell Streak and its 5 inch screen. We venture in the realm of slates with 7 inch displays, like the one pictured below, the OlivePad tablet.

This is an Android device, with a 7 inch capacitive touch display, with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and we learn that it’s coming to India soon. Although this is not a phone, it still supports voice calls, but it’ll require a Bluetooth headset, if you want to get comfortable. OlivePad also features a Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz CPU, GSM/WCDMA connectivity, a 3 megapixel camera at the back and a front facing one.

You’ll also find 512MB RAM on board, 512MB ROM, an USB socket, WiFi and a 3.5mm audio jack. The slate runs Android 2.1 and it should be priced around $425 up to $530. No telling if this product will ever leave India.
