After a bunch of rumors concerning an iPad Maxi and iPad Pro meant for this year, analysts and experts are dialing down their expectations. KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo, a very trusted source when it comes to Apple stuff claims that this year we’ll only see a new iPad Air and that’s it.
There will be no 12.9 inch iPad or new iPad Mini until 2015 apparently. The new iPad Air will feature an A8 processor and Touch ID fingerprint sensor and Apple will work in the background, focusing on the next iPad Mini and the 12.9 inch iPad for next year. The bigger tablet will allow developers to create more interactive apps for a bigger screen and it will be used by professionals.
The analyst also discusses the iWatch and plans to launch it this year, with mass production to start in Q1. Meanwhile, the iPad 2 production is going down, as predicted. Will Apple lose the battle for the big tablet segment if it launches its 12.9 inch model in 2015? Will Samsung beat it by then?
