It’s been a while since we reported about budget Android tablets and I was getting used to that… Now we’re back with that, this time with the Nextbook Premium 8SE Android slate, once again a cheap model. It offers an 8 inch TFT color display and runs Android 4.0.

The price is $229.99 and this model features a touchscreen, WiFi, 25 preloaded e-books and an integrated front camera for video calls. The screen resolution is merely 800 x 480, so this is basically Windows Phone level, if you want a comparison. The tablet has 4GB of internal storage and there’s also a microSD card slot if you want more. The book reading section is taken care of by Barnes & Noble. The slate supports Adobe Flash 11 and the front camera is 0.3MP in resolution.

Obviously the specs aren’t that impressive, but for less than $230 I say it’s a decent offer. That unless you want to buy an Amazon Kindle Fire or an Aakash tablet from India…
