Microsoft is prepping new color hues for the Surface Laptop, this time for the Core i7 unit. The product was unveiled back in May and disappointed some people through the fact that it doesn’t come with much of a color variety. Also, the little variety that existed was limited to the Core i5 model. Well, that’s no longer the case.
Microsoft is now listing the Burgundy, Cobalt Blue and Graphite Gold color options for the machine, in the US Microsoft Store. The device we’re talking about features an Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage. The extra colors join the already existing Platinum model, the only one available for the Core i7 till now.
The only one left stuck with a single version is the Core i7 unit with 256 GB of SSD storage and 8 GB of RAM. The extra color options come for the $2199 device and this means that the price of the original platinum version doesn’t change. Of course the machine is a bit pricey, especially for an unit that runs a castrated Windows 10, but you can upgrade from Windows 10 S at any time.
Those of you looking to get a Surface Laptop should however remember that the device got a ZERO repairability score in the iFixit teardown, so either you’re lucky it never breaks or… it’s basically hell to repair it.
