Doesn’t it feel strange to see an ASUS representative speaking so openly about a product that hasn’t even been announced yet? I’m talking about the next gen Nexus 7, that has been just detailed by an ASUS employee speaking to a customer.

The proof regarding the leak is in the screenshots included in this article, but as usual they could be faked, so take the info with a big grain of salt. The chat was between a customer and an ASUS rep and the customer tried his luck, by asking details about the ASUS K009 model. This codename has been applied to a mystery ASUS slate that reached the FCC recently and the media has been claiming that this is supposed to be the new Nexus 7 tablet.

The ASUS rep claims that this model will debut before the ending of the current month and that it will feature a 7 inch LED 1980 x 1200 pixel display and a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU. There should also be 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage on board, as well as a 5 megapixel back camera, Android 4.3 and a 4000 mAh battery.

We’ve also got LTE and WCDMA support, GSM too and this is basically everything we need to know about the product. Are we just hours away from the launch? That would be the only explanation of the leak.
