Last month Amazon unveiled new slates, part of the Fire series and also unveiled some Kids Editions for them. Now the new Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 tablets are shipping to customers, possibly generating yet another quarter of growth for the Jeff Bezos enterprise.

Amazon Fire 7 is priced at $49.99, while the Fire HD 8 goes for $79.99. The first comes with a 7 inch screen, 8 or 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a battery life of up to 8 hours. Available in black, yellow, blue or red, the device relies on an IPS display, a quad core 1.3 GHz processor and also offers you access to Alexa. The Fire HD 8 gives you 12 hours of battery life, 16 or 32 GB of storage and 1.5 GB of RAM.

This time it also brings Dolby Audio, a HD resolution on that 8 inch screen and a 1.3 GHz quad core processor. A microSD card slot and Alexa are also here. Both devices ship with Fire OS 5 and of course offer support for WiFi and Bluetooth. The Amazon Fire 7 Kids Edition is priced at $100 and offers 1 year of subscription to Amazon FreeTime, as well as a rugged case.
