NEC just announced a bunch of new Android tablets with the LifeTouch L name and this product is destined for individuals who look for business features in one version and the other one for the average consumer. The two versions of the slate offer 32GB and 16GB respectively and will release on July 5th.
The business slate offers 16GB of integrated storage and has improved security features and this unit will come in late July. The tablets share many functions and design, so they both weigh 540 grams and have a thickness of 7.99 mm. Both devices run Android 4.0 ICS and rely on a dual core 1.5 GHz OMAP4460 processor. The display here is an IPS unit with wide viewing angles and a 10.1 inch diagonal, plus a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The tablets have a battery life of around 13 hours when surfing the web and about 10 hours when viewing video.
WiFi is here and the 5 GHz band is supported. The consumer device is designed for easier application finding and has a security feature for children, in order to keep them safe online. Pricing is still unknown and I expect an Asian launch first…
