There aren’t a great deal of offers on the market to cover the 3D devices demand. Barely did some manufacturers manage to integrate 3D technology into their smartphones and people are already demanding to be entertained by the 3D capabilities of their tablets. That is a little hard to come by.
In case of mobile devices we can’t go running around crying the 3D glasses with us all the time. It was not the case with say LG’s Optimus 3D lineup and it shouldn’t be with the upcoming products. We have a big announcement from Sony in this regard, aiming for a release as soon as the beginning of next year, for a glassless free big screen TV. As for the tablet category, the device must own special graphics and processing power, along with a high-res display.
Nautilus is the first manufacturer to announce a 3D tablet device for Russia. The device is called the Calipso 3D and it supports wide angles of viewing without the need of polarized special glasses. Calipso 3D has plenty to offer in both terms of looks and specs. For the 3D part, the tablet features a parallax barrier – a special device placed in front of the screen that it is a plate material with a number of slots that are at some distance from each other. The hardware configuration is based on the Cortex A9 processor with a clock frequency set at 1.5 GHz. The display offers dynamic backlight to save power and 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. No word about pricing as of yet.
