Fancy a Froyo MID, that’s in fact a tablet, that’s in fact an affordable device with a Cortex A8 CPU? We’ve got the Nationite MIDnite device, pictured below and pretty well specced to be honest. This is a rebranded WITS A81-E unit with a 600MHz OMAP3 3530 core, a 7 inch touch display, Android 2.2 on board and a sub $200 price tag.
The screen supports a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, but sadly it’s only a resistive display we’re dealing with. WiFi b/g is also on board, instead of b/g/n, but that’ll have to do, for this price. Also, the tablet uses a 3,000 mAh battery, that offers 5-6 hours of functioning time with the WiFi on and 7-10 hours with the connectivity option off.
No Bluetooth or HDMI out are included, however you get 256MB of RAM, 2GB flash storage, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Host port and support for many video formats. Launch date? August 23rd. Hands on video available below:
