Motorola’s Xoom has just received the Android 3.1 update, in spite of recent rumors about it being postponed till August. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer had already received the freshest Honeycomb flavor in the house and now the Xoom also got it, in the European version that is. The US Xoom was the very first unit to get Android 3.1 actually…

Seen by many as the Nexus Honeycomb unit, Motorola Xoom didn’t perform too well in sales, but maybe with Honeycomb 3.1 users will feel that the experience is more complete. Motorola has made the announcement about the update via Facebook, mentioning that the full release notes will be posted in each region.

The SD card slot will be enabled in every territory it seems and Honeycomb 3.1 also brings the usual bug fixes, stability enhancements and fixing all that’s broken. What’s with this difference between the May availability of Android 3.1 on the US Xoom and the availability of it NOW on the European tablet?
