According to some rumors, Microsoft is currently working on a new Surface tablet, one that comes with some big changes in order to make it more affordable. A smaller screen is on the list and now we get to know that a Pentium processor might be used in order to cut costs.

This new device will arrive with a 10 inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, with a cheaper variant of the Surface Type Cover and with a less impressive stylus. Also a less powerful processor will be found here, probably the Intel Pentium Silver that is based on Intel’s low-cost/low-power Gemini Lake architecture.

Some rumors suggest that a quad-core Pentium Gold 4410Y or a dual-core 4415Y might be found here, 6-watt processors that are used for thin and light fanless devices. This cheap Surface might get 4G LTE support optional and a $400 price tag.
