Microsoft’s Surface Go is only now reaching India, as the most affordable Surface slate. The device is available exclusively on local retailer Flipkart. Some of the Surface tablets have skipped India, like the first two generations. However, the Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4 reached that country in January 2016. The latest gen Surface Pro (2017) also debuted in India late (this year).

Back in August Microsoft announced the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop in India, so things are getting into a certain stride. The Surface Go is a smaller tablet, at 10 inches, but keeps a decent resolution at 1800 x 1200 pixels. It has a 3:2 aspect and opts for Windows 10 Home in S Mode. It’s got an Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor, 4 GB of RAM or 8 GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 615.

There’s also 64 GB of eMMC storage or 128 GB of SSD storage, plus we have one USB Type-C port, Surface Connect port and Surface Type Cover port. There’s also a microSDXC card reader and a 5 MP front camera, plus a main 8 MP shooter with AF. It all weighs 1.15 lbs without a keyboard and 1.7 lbs with one. Surface Go is now available for preorder in India exclusively on Flipkart, starting on December 15.

The 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage model starts at $536, while the 8 GB RAM model is priced at $709. The Surface Go Type Cover is $120. You can also opt for Windows 10 Pro on the device and Windows Autopilot, unboxing and configuring the device from the cloud.
