If you’re looking for an Android 4.0 tablet with low price, Matsunichi has the answer, at least for the US market. They’re launching a new $249 slate with Android 4.0 in the States and you can see the device below. Meet the MarquisPad MP977, pictured below and packing a 1.2GHz dual core DSP TI processor.

There’s also 1GB of DDR2 memory on board, a 9.7 inch LED backlit 1024 x 768 pixel display with 132 ppi. Other specs include WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, 2GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a VGA camera upfront. The battery on the MarquisPad MP977 is a Li-Ion unit with 4000 mAh capacity. The product measures 0.49 inches in thickness and weighs 1.6 lb. It’s available in black, silver and bronze. Matsunichi is also preparing a more powerful model, the MP979, that’s coming soon and it’s pictured below.

This one ups the CPU to 1.5 GHz (dual core, TI), brings 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot (2GB bundled), a 6000 mAh battery and the same weight and thickness. I guess that the price won’t be hugely different from the model above, but we’ll have to wait and see for that.
