The LG G Pad III 8.0 tablet, one of the most appealing 8 inch slates moved by carriers over the past years has just started receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat. The device was found with this software update on Canadian carrier Fido.

We’re dealing with an OTA rollout, so it should take some time to reach your device. Those who can’t wait should check out the Settings menu on the device. I should mention that the device’s full name is actually LG G Pad III 8.0 Full HD, clearly showing we’re dealing with a Full HD tablet. Released last Spring, this slate has an 8 inch Full HD screen, 2 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, as well as a 4800 mAh battery.

It provides 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 5 megapixel main camera and a front 5 MP shooter too. It debuted with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board and brings a 4800 mAh battery, WiFi and GPS. Nougat should bring on it split screen multitasking, better battery management and a brand new design for the notifications and Quick Settings area.
