The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is now in the news again, but this time through an OTA update. The device launched last week has just been updated to Android 4.4.2, that’s now available via OTA. In the meantime you can download the package from here.
The new firmware version is Android 4.4.2/KOT49H, that keeps the slate up to date with the current Nexus generation devices. We’ve got no official changelog here and I have to say that even when Android 4.4.2 first came days ago, we didn’t much about it. I suppose it may fix some bugs triggered by Android 4.4.1 and that it has to do with enhancements and improvements of functioning.
The OTA is rolling out in stages, so you can be patient or use the download link above. There’s also the option of downloading directly from Google’s serves and flashing everything manually. I have to say I’m not very excited about this device, because it loses some of the cool features of the LG G Pad 8.3, like the Q Slide, Quick Memo, Q Pair and many others. I wonder if it keeps the infrared emitter…
