ASUS managed to pass through the FCC two Windows 8 tablets recently, the Tablet 810 and 610 models and now it’s Lenovo’s turn to prepare for the big unveiling of Windows 8 in October. They’ve just passed their own Win 8 slate through the FCC, bearing the TP00043AWD model number.
This device sadly isn’t accompanied by pictures or specs, but rather by the usual sketch, that’s shown below. We’re dealing here with a model that features a 10.1 inch 1366 x 768 pixel display, an Intel Clover Trail CPU, an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 2 megapixel camera at the front. To that we add the usual selection of connectors. Well, I’ll have to take back the whole October thing, seeing that this model has an Intel CPU.
As you probably know already, the Windows RT versions of tablets will come first, in October bearing in this case an Nvidia CPU for Lenovo, while the Intel ones will come 3 months later. Lenovo has a tradition of including business features on their Thinkpad line, including tablets and laptops and they might do so here as well, so expect encryption, handwritting, Office bundled and more.
