Lenovo has just started updating its ThinkPad tablets with Android 4.0 ICS, in what seems to be one of those late waves of updates, that Samsung is also going through right now, with an ICS update coming to its older Galaxy Tab line soon. Anyway, know that the ThinkPad slates will get NFC via Android Beam, Face Unlock and a custom UI.

You also get access to the improved Gmail, Calendar and Chrome versions and the update is available over the air, as confirmed by some lucky users ever since Monday. You just need to tap the Software Update button in the Settings area and the update to Android 4.0 should be available for you. Another good thing that the update brings is that multitasking concept based on swiping apps to close them, as well as improved notifications, resizable widgets and new lock screen actions.

Text input is also enhanced, as well as spell checking, camera UI and capabilities and screenshot taking abilities. Of course there are the obvious bugs and kinks to iron out, with some users complaining about the display time out feature, for example. There are also reports that the update has started rolling out in China, so feel free to check those one out as well.
