It’s good to keep an eye on Asian authorities, like TENAA or the Indian importer Zauba, but now Indonesian authority Postel is the one revealing unlaunched devices. I’m talking about the Lenovo Miix 3 8 inch tablet, that’s been leaked through a listing on Postel.
The product is codenamed Lenovo Miix 3-830, but it’s also known as the Lenovo Miix 3 8 inch. We could see this product introduced at IFA 2014 in Berlin next month, or maybe we’ll have a separate conference from Lenovo, perhaps with Ashton Kutcher on stage, since he’s their brand man after all. This third generation Miix tablet is an 8 incher, but there will also be a 10 incher Miix in the future.
The older Miix 2 8 inch had an Intel Atom Z3740 Bay Trail processor, so the newcomer may well feature an Intel Moorefield or Merrifield processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of storage and an 8 inch 1920 x 1080 pixel display. The Lenovo Miix 2 may adopt the design pictured below, as leaked by Red Dot a while ago. Keep in mind this leak is actually a 10 incher, but the Miix 3 8 inch could be a miniaturized version of it.
There’s also a Yoga vibe here with the whole orange and squared lines thing. The keyboard is actually the novelty here and it comes with a magnetic locking mechanism.
