Lava is an Indian brand that usually deals with handsets, not tablets, but today they’re debuting a big screen slate, the Xtron Z704 model. This device comes just days after another slate, the Lava IvoryE, with voice calling abilities. The newcomer is priced at $99, so affordability is its main appeal.

Lava Xtron Z704 comes with a Cortex A7 quad core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, with Videocore IV GPU, plus Android 4.4 as the OS and 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. The internal storage is 16 GB and there’s also a microSD card slot available, with support for an extra 32 GB. This model offers a G Sensor, integrates a 7 inch display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and a 2 MP main camera without flash.

On the connectivity side there’s WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, with support for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, USB, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and even HDMI. There’s no 2G or 3G, since we don’t have a SIM slot. Lava Xtron Z704 measures 10.7 mm in thickness, weighs 320 grams and integrates a 4000 mAh battery.
