Last month Toshiba announced 3 new tablets, the Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write and while we were promised a fast release, these models have now been delayed. In spite of that, they have reached the FCC in the meantime.

In Netherlands for example the products were supposed to debut in late June and that didn’t come through. Toshiba Excite Pure is a budget slate, one that packs a Tegra 3 quad core CPU and 1 GB of RAM, as well as a 10 inch 1280 x 800 screen and Android 4.2. The storage space is 16 GB and we also get microSD support, a 3 megapixel camera and a microHDMI port. The price tag is 299 euro.

The Excite Pro is a bit more expensive, at 499 euro and it comes with a 2560 x 1600 resolution on a 10 inch panel. Inside it we find the Tegra 4 CPU and 2 GB of RAM, plus 32 GB of storage and an 8 megapixel camera, as well as microHDMI output. This device will weigh 645 grams and measure 10.5 mm in thickness. Hopefully they’ll reach the market sooner rather than later, since the likes of ASUS, Acer and even HP have rival models ready…
