It’s been a while since the last Kobo release, but we’re glad the company is still kicking. They’ve just released the new e-reader Aura H20. If this sounds familiar, you should know that Kobo launched in 2014 a similarly named e-reader.

This is a new version, so it may be marketed as Kobo Aura H20 (2017). The novelty is that it’s smaller and cheaper than the predecessor. This device is IPX8 water resistant, meaning it can survive on the beach or next to the pool. The e-reader can also be submerged underwater, up to 2 meters for one hour, so the occasional pool drop may happen.

The device packs a 6.8 inch E-Ink display with 265 ppi and it will be available from May 22nd, priced at $179. There’s a pretty grippy rubber back plate, so you can hold on to the unit for a long while. Just like the Aura One, this product can change the color temperature of the screen. The new e-reader is 20 grams lighter and it’s also $50 cheaper than the Aura One for example.
