Now that Amazon’s new tablets are found in stores, it’s time for rivals like Kobo to react and launch new products. Said newcomers are the Arc 7 HD and Arc 10 HD, slates that recently passed through the FCC getting ready for launch.
Kobo’s new Android tablets have been submitted for approval and I’m talking about the Kobo Arc 7 HD and the Arc 10 HD, that hit the FCC last week. The Arc 10 HD model is pretty powerful, packing a 10.1 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel display, an Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core CPU, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, as well as a battery that offers 9.5 hours of functioning time.
If you check out the review we did for the Transformer Pad TF701T, you’ll see the exact same features there, including battery life. The price of the higher specced Kobo is expected to be $400, while the smaller Arc 7 HD will have a price tag of $199. This model features a 1200p 7 inch screen, Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU, 1 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of storage.
Kobo will preinstall a custom UI on top of Android, an eReader app and their own bookstore application.
