People prefer to snap joysticks onto their iPhones nowadays and also gain some battery life. However, others prefer to use a separated gaming joystick, like the Kanex GoPlay Sidekick for example, a portable joystick that works with iPads, Apple TV and more.

This machine was announced earlier this year at CES 2017 and it has been launched finally this summer. It plays nicely with iPhones, iPads and Apple TV and it’s been certified by Apple itself as a “made for iPhone” controller. It’s a pocket sized accessory that works via Bluetooth 4.0 and also has a Lightning connector for charging the iPhone or iPad. In spite of being so tiny, the device offers 20 hours of gameplay on a single charge.

One of its features is the included clamshell carrying case, that also works as a stand for the iPhone or iPad, something you don’t get with rival products. Kanex GoPlay Sidekick comes with a “patent pending protective clamshell case”. Everything fits in a bag or pocket and there’s a console-level set of controls here, like dual analog sticks, trigger buttons, a D-pad and pressure sensitive buttons even.

Kanex GoPlay Sidekick is available right now priced at $60.
