After such a long wait, it has finally happened: Apple teased the launch of the iPad 3 and announced that an official event is scheduled for March 7th in San Francisco. Invites have been sent out and I’m not yet sure if the new Apple tablet will be called iPad 3, iPad HD, iPad 2S or something else entirely. The event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10 AM PST.
What you see here in this picture looks like a teaser for the Retina Display of the new iPad, certainly one with a larger resolution than the first two iPads. The casing also seems darker than the current models… well it may all be lighting in the end. People also expect here a quad core Apple A6 processor, a better camera (5-8 megapixels) and LTE. A fascinating thing in this image is the lack of a Home button here, the device is either in horizontal mode, or Apple gave up the Home button on the iPad.
Anyway, don’t make plans for next Wednesday, since Tim Cook and co will take on the stage of the Yerba Buena center and storm the tablet segment with the highest resolution device seen so far among slates. Excited? Getting one? Why?
