Lately we hear a lot about Chinese video platforms such as LeTV or PPTV. While the first one called LeTV has already launched a couple of its own smartphones on the market, PPTV is still looking forward to do it. Today, we get to know that in China there’s another online video platform called iQIYI. This service recently announced a tablet device in collaboration with ASUS.
At its origin, this tablet is an Asus MeMo Pad 8 ME581CL, and from what you can see nothing in terms of design has changed. The only novelty is that the slate comes with a customized Android that brings iQIYI services to the users. We notice something similar to Xiaomi’s MIUI if there’s a need for comparison.
In terms of specs, we’re looking at a 8-inch tablet with FHD IPS display, 16 GB space of internal storage, an Intel Atom Z3560 processor on 64-bit, 2 GB of RAM and a 4.000 mAh built-in battery. The slate packs a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel sensor and its case measures only 7.45 mm in thickness. The price of this MeMo Pad Edition tablet is set at $, and it comes with three months iQIYI VIP membership.
