Ever since the first iPad debuted, Apple has been king of the tablet segment, impossible to remove from the first spot, although the past two years brought serious decreases of sales and market share. Still, they hang on to some records and number one spots. For example, the Apple iPad won the J.D. Power 2016 US tablet satisfaction study.

This means that Apple ranked the highest in customer satisfaction yet again. The same study noted that there’s a rising demand for hybrid tablets, those known as 2 in 1 devices. It’s the fifth year the study is performed and in order to test customer satisfaction, these key areas are analyzed: performance, ease of operation, features, styling and design, plus cost.

Satisfaction is measured on a 1000 point scale. Aside from the iPad getting 830 points, Microsoft was very close with 829 and Samsung with 822. The study found that satisfaction for the hybrid tablets is 11 points higher than the one offered by non hybrid models. Also, hybrid users clocked more time using Microsoft Office, browsing the Internet and using social media.

Just in case you’re wondering where Apple lost points in this survey, well, they dropped them in the cost area, but did well in performance. Microsoft did well in styling and design and Samsung also scored there too.
