Apple had a big event on April 20, where it unveiled new iPad Pro models, an 11 inch and 12.9 inch one, plus new iMacs and the AirTag. What was lacking from that event was a new iPhone SE, new Apple Watch and also possibly an iPad Mini 6. This device has been rumored for a while now and today we have more details about it.

Reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the chip shortage has made the device be delayed till the second half of 2021. It could debut in the September-October time frame, when the iPhone 13 is expected to drop. We’re expected to see yet another unibody metal case device, with a diagonal that increases from 7.95 inches to 8.5 inches or even 9 inches. There are also sources saying that we should expect a design similar to the iPad Air 3 ones, while others say we could see the same format, with big bezels, especially at the top and bottom.

The Home button with Touch ID is also supposedly here to stay. Apple is going to keep using an LCD panel here, not switching to mini LED like it did on the 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2021. We’re expecting an Apple A13 or A14 CPU inside, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, if not more, plus Apple Pencil support, if possible. A camera upgrade is long overdue, I’d say. The price should be around $399 or $499 and a 5G version could also make the cut. I’m also curious if a smaller Magic Keyboard accessory could see the light of day.
