Even though it’s not yet very sure we’ll see a new iPad Mini this year, leaks have started, related to a new tablet like that. The iPad Mini 3 was a letdown, since aside from a new color and fingerprint scanner, it didn’t offer anything new. Now, a leaked CAD file from @OnLeaks just detailed the upcoming slate.

The iPad Mini 4 is supposed to be an ultrathin tablet, with a waistline of just 6.1 mm, compared to the 7.5 mm of the latest iPad Mini. This means it will have the same thickness of the iPad Air 2, which comes as a contrast to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, rumored to be thicker than their predecessors. Basically, we’ll be getting a smaller iPad Air 2, it seems, with an 8 megapixel back camera, Apple A8 or even A9 processor and 2 GB of RAM.

Apple is rumored to hold a press conference in Cupertino on September 9th, where it will unveil the new iPhone and iPad generations, making this a bit of a premiere. Usually, they unveil tablets and phones separately. The iPad Pro will be the real new product here, a productivity-focused 12 inch tablet, that will make good use of a stylus and keyboard.
