Liverpool design studio Stuart Hughes recently customized the iPad 2 in a very unique fashion, by adorning it not only with precious metals, but also gems and even dinosaur fragments. We’re talking about the Gold History Edition of the tablet, one that sports a front frame made from a 75 million years old Ammolite rock.

This rock is the rarest gemstone on Earth and as an extra, the tablet gets sections of a 65 million old T-REX Dinosaur’s thigh bone splintered and embedded into the Ammolite. The design studio also encrusted 12.5 carat Flawless diamonds into the slate, 53 gems that were placed in the shape of the Apple logo.

This is a limited edition of the device, since only two such units are available, which is also explained by the huge price: 5 million pounds, for this baby. I guess that none of us has ever been closer to a T-REX…
