It appears that people on tablets are actually more open to buy products when they’re being bombarded with ads. A recent study from the Online Publishing Association and Frank N Magid Associates shows that tablet app spending will jump from $1.4 billion in 2011 to $2.6 billion this year.
Tablet app spending has gained a lot over the past year and tablet advertising as well. Slate ownership is supposed to now include almost half of all US Internet users. Paid apps account for 23% of all downloaded tablet apps over the last 12 months, which is good news for developers who want to monetize their products. Tablet advertisers are also glad, since 38% of tablet users made a purchase after seeing an ad.
The same study says that 29% tablet users felt compelled to research products after they saw the related ad on their tablets. Also, 23% of them admitted to clicking on a tablet ad. The number of US Internet users who own a tablet is expected to increase to 47% by Q2 2013, when the iPad 4 will probably be out already. So, is this a great market for advertising, or what?
