Remember the long advertised Indian Tablet going for a mere $35? Turns out the device is not made in India, but rather in China, courtesy of manufacturer Hivision. Also, the unit is sold as the Speedpad and it was originally shown at CeBIT 2010, where Hivision claimed it costs $100.

Androidos.in found the truth and they even have the evidence to support their claims. Last we heard, the “Indian tablet” was made by the Indian Government, or at least it was an initiative funded by them. “India’s top engineering colleges” were considered the product’s manufacturers… The only question we have is whether or not the unit is going to be launched with that appealing price tag.
