Sony announced a few devices today at IFA 2014, including the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The latter is the one that interests us, since it’s Sony’s first 8 inch Android slate and apparently the slimmest LTE slate in the world.
This model measures 6.4 m in thickness, weighs 270 grams and integrates an 8 inch Full HD display, as well as a quad core Snapdragon 801 CPU with 2.5 GHz clock rate. The device uses an 8.1 megapixel rear camera, a front 2.2 MP shooter and a battery that provides around 13 hours of video playback. This tablet has audio upscaling and it’s Sony’s first tablet with PlayStation 4 Remote Play.
This means you can control your gaming console from the tablet and use it as a primary screen if the TV is busy. Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is both dust and waterproof and uses Triluminous technology with Liver Color LED for the screen. Sony also included the Battery STAMINA Mode, that turns off battery functions when you’re not using them to extend the battery life.
