IFA 2011 seems to be all about tablets this year, so it doesn’t surprise me that yet another slate was revealed, although its name doesn’t ring any bells. I’m talking about the Medion LifeTablet Android tablet, that’s a pretty generic Honeycomb slate with a 10 inch 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
There’s also Android 3.2 on board, 32GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera at the back and a front camera most likely for videocalls. Predictable ports are USB, HDMI and you get WiFi and 3G versions of the device. This is a pretty heavy piece of gear at 720 grams, but no heavier than the Motorola Xoom, that’s for sure.
You need to be in Europe to be purchasing one of these tablets and as far as launch goes, Christmas time should do it. Medion also wants to launch a 4.3 inch smartphone and e-reader soon enough, so we’ve got another TabCo/JooJoo here…
