Huawei launched today in Taiwan the MediaPad M2 8.0 tablet, a device that’s priced at $305. This model will be available at the carrier Chunghwa Telecom, as well as Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecommunications starting mid September.

This is an 8 inch 4G tablet, that measures 7.8 mm in thickness and has an elegant metal body. It also brings a Full HD resolution and large dual speakers with Harman/Kardon technology and a SmartPA amplifier. The MediaPad M2 relies on an octa core 64 bit Kirin 930 processor and it also brings support for WiFi 802.11ac, with up to 44.3% faster speed than other tablets, so it has a high end WiFi module.

The newcomer packs a 4800 mAh battery, that should offer around 30 hours of music on a single charge. Other specs include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and an 8 megapixel main camera. The device will come in gold and silver and run Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI on top. There will also be a premium edition with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
