The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 is a device that just got certified in China, in two versions: MT2-C00 and the MT2-U071. This is an occasion to check out the official pictures and specs of the upcoming phablet.

We’ve seen it leaked about a month ago, with front panels and back side pics available, plus some specs. Now we’re probably days away from its release, judging by the certification. We know that this device will feature a 6.1 inch display with 720p HD resolution and before you get excited, you should know that hardware improvements aren’t huge compared to the Huawei Ascend Mate 1.

The Ascend Mate 2 is powered by a quad core CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz and inside it we find 2 GB of RAM, an unknown quantity of storage and a 13 megapixel back shooter. There’s a 5 megapixel front shooter available here and we’ve got Full HD video recording, microUSB, Bluetooth, FM radio and GPS here. The product measures 9.54 mm in thickness, weighs 202 grams and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
