A so called HTC One XXL has been rumored for a while now, as well as a codenamed “HTC Note”, but the past weeks have been mute when it comes to rumors about this HTC phablet. Now it’s back in full force, ready to rival the Samsung and LG phablets and apparently getting ready to debut… soon.
Rumors say that the device will sport a 5 inch Full HD screen and a dual core or quad core CPU, depending on the market it’s sold in. As usual, Snapdragon S4 will replace the Tegra in USA, or maybe it will feature the new quad core Snapdragon. The rest of the specs are a mystery, but it’s a safe bet that there will be dual cameras, one an 8 megapixel shooter, plus the usual sensors, at least 16GB of storage, 1GB or 2GB of RAM and the stylus borrowed from the HTC Flyer, in an evolved version.
HTC could use the occasion to launch its first device with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean preinstalled and that could be phablet we’re talking about. Let’s hope that the price won’t be huge and that the design will more original than just a bigger One X.
