After last week, the guys from Android Police discovered a new HTC tablet with the codename Volantis, now the popular leaker @evleaks reveals a model number for this interesting device that may arrive on the market as an Nexus device, more precisely as Nexus 9.
The model number is 0P821000, and it definitely doesn’t say pretty much about this HTC slate. As you can see in the picture above, it appears the Flounder name, a codename for a 8 inch tablet that might be cancelled in favor of the 8.9 inch one codenamed HTC Volantis.
Nexus 9 or HTC Volantis will pack a 8.9 inch display with a 2.048 x 1.440 pixel resolution, a NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, a 8-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 3-megapixel front-facing camera and stereo front-facing speakers. Also, we find out that this device will be built using the zero-gap construction technology with an aluminium case.
There’s also some prices for this product, $399 for the 16 GB model and $499 for the 32 GB version. This tablet may arrive sometime in Q4 and it might be a part of the Silver program and not a Nexus device. It remains to see what other rumors will be showing up next.
