HP announced today a series of new tablets, including a 12 inch slate with a stylus bundled. The HP Pro Slate 12 and HP Pro Slate 8 are among the newcomers, both Android 4.4 tablets with 12.3 inch and 7.9 inch screens, as well as Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
They come with Snapdragon 800 CPUs, 2 GB of RAM and 4:3 aspect ratios. They measure less than 8 mm in thickness and the Pro Slate 12 stands out through a 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution, while the Pro Slate 8 offers a 2048 x 1536 pixel res. The pricing of the two is set at $569 for the Pro Slate 12 and $449 for the Pro Slate 8. The HP Duet Pen is included both both products, a special stylus that lets the user write on paper or another surface.
It involves Qualcomm’s Snapdragon digital pen technology, with ultrasound transmitters to emit the pen’s position and rotation axis. That’s detected by special microphones in the pen, that will help triangulate the position. HP also announced the brand new Pro Slate 10 EE today, a 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 device, with an Intel Atom CPU, 1 GB of RAM and a body resilient to dust and moisture.
This slate comes with an optional keyboard case, a slot for a stylus and it’s available as both a Windows or Android version. Which newcomer sounds best for you?
