Honor has kicked off the teaser campaign for its next flagship tablet, the MagicPad 3, just ahead of the company’s confirmed July 2 launch event in China. While the spotlight of the event is expected to fall on the Honor Magic V5 foldable, new teasers indicate that the MagicPad 3 will debut alongside it, bringing a sleek design and upgraded internals.
The MagicPad 3 is shaping up to be one of the thinnest mainstream tablets on the market, measuring just 5.79mm thick. That makes it even slimmer than many flagship smartphones, while housing a large 13.3-inch LCD display — a notable bump from the 12.3-inch OLED panel used in last year’s MagicPad 2. According to Honor, this will be its thinnest LCD tablet to date.
Under the hood, the MagicPad 3 is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, based on leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station. That’s a major performance upgrade over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 found in the MagicPad 2. The tablet is expected to come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS storage, along with support for 66W fast charging and a substantial battery — though the exact capacity hasn’t been revealed yet.
In terms of aesthetics, Honor will reportedly offer the MagicPad 3 in three color options: Moon Shadow White, Floating Light Gold, and Starry Gray. Promotional materials already highlight the gold variant, suggesting it will be a key SKU at launch.
The MagicPad 3 replaces last year’s model, which packed eight speakers, a 10,050mAh battery, a 3K OLED screen, and ran MagicOS 9 based on Android 14. With a larger display, newer chip, and thinner body, the MagicPad 3 aims to be a serious contender in the productivity and media consumption space.
Expect more details to drop in the lead-up to the July 2 event.
