Haier unveiled a new tablet model in China yesterday, the new Haipad slate. This model runs Android 2.2 in a modified local version, so it’s not as appealing as a Honeycomb model.

The specs of this tablet are not quite clear yet, but what we do know is that it comes with a 7 inch touchscreen, dual camera, 3G and a Samsung 1GHz processor. This product will be available in 5 colors and we’ll also get an app store from Haier, with over 15k applications available to Chinese consumers.

Haier Haipad will launch in August and it comes with social networking features and movie streaming, while gaming has been neglected apparently. In spite of using an older Android version, this model is still appealing for its most likely low price.
