After being unveiled in early October with the Pixel 3 phones, the Google Pixel Slate has been long time coming, but it hasn’t received a proper release date, odd as it may seem. It finally gets that today, as we learn when it’s going to be shipping.
People have been placing orders for a while now, with varied shipping time frames. Right now if you order the Intel Celeron version with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, you’ll see it shipped in 3-4 weeks, according to the Google Store listing. If you go with a Celeron, 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, you’ll get a waiting time of 4-5 weeks.
The Core m3 Pixel Slate with 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage is going to be shipping in 2-3 weeks, priced at $799. The Core i5 model comes in 3-4 weeks too, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Those who really want the top level power should opt for a Core i7, which comes with 16 GB of RAM to accompany it, 256 GB of storage and 2-3 weeks of shipping time.
Of course, the price is rather steep at $1599. It stands clear that you should all get your gadgets before Santa comes and some luckier folks even before December starts. Of course these times are much longer than the iPad Pro ones, so people may find themselves more tempted by the Apple offers, but that’s a whole different segment.
