Apparently there’s a reason behind Apple’s lack of support for Flash, or so claims Steve Jobs, the Cupertino company’s CEO. He mentioned in a Wall Street Journal interview that the Flash Player uses the CPU very much and it’s a source of security issues on the web. Also, Jobs considers the technology dead and claims that it reduces the iPad’s battery life by 85%.
This means that if you use Flash Player on Apple’s tablet, you’ll get only 1.5 hours of battery life, instead of 10 hours. There’s always the alternative of HTML5, plus H.264 video encoding and the use of JavaScript for conversation on the go.
