The brand Evolio is a Romanian one, that is associated with some budget tablets with nice features. Among them we find the Evolio Evotab Fun model, that we reviewed for you in the video below. We’re dealing with a device that costs sub $200 and it comes with loads of accessories inside the box, including an automobile charger and a cradle like the ones you use for a GPS.

The device comes with a 5 year warranty and has a soft touch back, a comfortable one actually. It sits well in the cradle on your car windshield and it even squeezes in a 2 megapixel camera. It has a mini USB port, a HDMI port and all of that for a weight of 330 grams. Evolio Evotab Fun measures 9.5 mm in thickness and packs in a Boxchip A10 processor at 1 GHz, with a Mali 400 GPU (400 MHz). There’s also 1 GB of DDR3 RAM on board, 8 GB of flash storage and a microSD card slot with support for 32 GB of storage.

It runs Android 4.0 ICS and has a 7 inch display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The GPS receiver is a Highvision HV5820 and we even get a nifty FM transmitter here, with support for the ranges 88 MHz – 92 MHz. This is a 3G ready model, that needs an adapter to have a 3G dongle attached to it and give you the 3G experience. Inside the slate we find a Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery, that’s good for about 5-6 hours of fun. Evotab Fun supports Full HD playback in MKV, AVI and MP4 format and it also supports ebooks and all sorts of documents.

It scores pretty close to its Romanian Allview rivals in benchmarks, as shown in the video below. Too bad that it has a slight backlight bleed on the side… The audio experience is a bit plagued by the back vibration of the device. The pros of the device are the many accessories it comes with, the presence of Android 4.0 ICS and its pretty elegant design, plus the presence of the HDMI port. Too bad for the lag, battery and screen problems.

We give an 8 out of 10 and you can find out more from the review.
