Android fans probably already figured out that 7 inch or 8 inch tablets are hugely more popular than 10 inchers these days. The latest to join the trend is company Ematic, that released a new slate dubbed EGP008.
The product is an 8 inch slate with a budget price tag. This device uses a 1.6 GHz dual core processor, a quad core GPU, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, plus an extra 5 GB of cloud storage. The screen on board supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and there’s a 3000 mAh battery inside, that Ematic promises to power the device for 10 hours of usage.
The slate runs Android 4.1, sadly, not the Android 4.2 that most new tablets pack nowadays. This isn’t the only 8 inch player on the market and some have already failed miserably, like Samsung with its Galaxy Note 8, that didn’t get impressive reviews or sales. Meanwhile, the Ematic EGP008 goes for $129.99 at Walmart.
