Dell debuted a new hybrid between phone and tablet in India, a model dubbed Dell Venue 7 3741 and priced below $130. This device has a 6.95 inch screen, so it’s basically a tablet, but one that does 3G and phone calls.
Dell Venue 7 3741 is a budget device, with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and a quad core Intel Atom Z3735G processor. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and integrates a 2 megapixel back camera without flash, plus a VGA front shooter. It costs $124 and has 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and GPS. There’s Bluetooth 4.0 on board, 3G, voice calling and WiFi.
This model measures 9.85 mm in thickness, weighs 315 grams and has a 4100 mAh battery. The design of the device is pretty good looking, considering it’s a budget affair. Also, for this low price, I’d see Dell selling quite a few units in India. But then again, there are tablets with similar specs for $50 in the country…
